Hi Tea, I came across your website on the SBDC forum. I’ve enjoyed reading your blogs, it is nice to know that someone has been there, done that and come out on top! My business is still in the fledgling stages, and definitely feels like “cash on the side” at the moment …… just have to keep working at it

I wish I had read and heeded your precepts when I opened my graphics studio about 20 yrs ago.
I broke just about every rule you list and my business languished and died. I;ve recovered financially since but you remind me that there is a certain
kind of person out there (very numerous) who senses a struggling businessperson who is prone to manipulation. Like sharks, they sense and
exploit your sincere desire to please.
If you are going into a small service business, you need to have a tough inner core or you WILL be eaten alive. Watch the movie “True Grit.”
