Hi Tea,

Thank you for your thoughtful assessment of the day. I sat right behind you and, from my perspective, we were hearing the same message.

My overriding impression was there was an awful lot of preaching to the converted. Most of the people in the room have been active in social media for some time now, albeit coming at it from different angles. I, too, would have liked to hear more about how we can take this new channel in different directions to improve "business".

Still, you can't deny the power of a conference able to keep 300+damp, melting people in their seats for a full day. I enjoyed it. I enjoyed meeting people I've known on Twitter. I'm going to blog about it, too, but not until next week when Twitter wakes up.

Keep up the great work.

you summarised the entire day perfectly. I think @RichardGiles really did nail it with the WestPac tweet example humanising the corporation.

the only thing you missed was a rant about THE BLOODY AIRCON…..but let this be it instead

Paradigm is only a wanky word when you don't use it properly! haha

I felt I kind of needed to address my strong concerns about the tone of some
of the speakers at the Conference, which really was all about monetising it,
micromanaging it, and all of those lovely fluff words that really don't mean
squat in the modern world.

It's certainly interesting times ahead.
